Boosted decision trees: From a single tree to and XGBoost model

Abstract

I will give a presentation on ML modeling with boosted decision trees where the focus is on explaining the method and mathematics behind these models. The aim is to gain a better understanding and intuition into the internal workings of these models including insight into strengths and shortcomings.
